THE WHOLE WORLD COMES TO
BETHLEHEM ON CHRISTMAS DAY

Wilma W. Burton

The whole world comes to Bethlehem on Christmas day
To walk the paths the shepherds trod
While heaven's choir sang praise to God,
Where wise men bearing gold and myrrh
Beheld the star that led them there.

The whole world comes to Bethlehem on Christmas Day
To pause before a manger's door
Where lambs bleat low upon the floor,
There to find an infant sleeping
While angels watch are sweetly keeping.

The whole world comes to Bethlehem on Christmas Day,
And though the room is humble, small,
There is a place for one and all
To enter in and worship here
The newborn Saviour they hold dear.

"Christmas is a quest. May each of us
follow his star of faith and find the
heart's own Bethlehem."
