Timber-Lee Cardamom Bread Recipe
this is especially for all your Swedish people, by birth or desire. Recipe courtesy Timber-Lee Christian Center
Scald 3/4 cup milk, let cool.
Add 2 pkg dry yeast to 1/2 cup very warm water, let bubble Stir together 2/3 cup sugar , milk and yeast mixture.
Beat in 2 cups flour
Add 1/2 cup melted butter,2 eggs, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon ground cardamon.
Beat for 3 minutes with mixer.
Stir in 3 more cups of flour.
Knead for 5 minutes, or until dough ball is smooth.
Place in oiled bowl, cover, let rise for 1 1/2 hours Knead lightly, let rise 3/4 hour.
Divide dough into 2 balls, then divide each dough ball into 3 sections.
Form each section into a 12" long rope, then braid the 3 ropes together.
Tuck under the ends and fit into greased bread pans.
Let rise until full sized, brush with milk, sprinkle with sugar on top, Bake at 350 degrees for 25 - 35 minutes. Cover with foil for last 15 minutes to keep from browning too fast. Watch very closely as all ovens are not the same.
